Contacts always displayed in reverse alphabetical order

For the past several days, my Outlook 2016 Contacts have been displayed in reverse alphabetical order. I click the full name tab to cause them to appear in alphabetical order, but Outlook keeps on forgetting this preference and reverts to reverse chronological order. How can I get my preference for alphabetical order to stick?

In the Outlook People pane, right click on one of the letters and select "reverse sort"
