Unable to send email link

Hello.
I have a hotmail account which I set as the default for sending email from Outlook. My account was added using the Outlook Connector tool.

This works fine if I create and send an e-mail. However, If I click an email link from a web page it begins a new Outlook email for me, but the email sits in my Outbox
with the error message 'could not link to server'. (My internet is running at the time.)
Sometimes Outlook says Send/Receive was completed but the email remains in my outbox.

Any idea why this might be and how I can resolve it? Thanks, Andy.

Do you ever post a question and immediately become inspired to find the solution?
If I ensure Outlook is open before I click the email link then the email is immediately sent.
(I think it's the process of describing the problem that often hints at a solution..) Soz, Andy.

Thanks for posting the workaround - it might well be useful to others.
