FILTERS - Chrome browser on Android MOTO-X smart-phone

Post by ChrisGreaves »

I am cheaper than you can imagine, and am about to change plans from a 1GB/month to a 500MB/month. I walk my laptop to the library for free WiFi access.

It struck me this morning that when I am checking concert times or outstanding holds and so on, I do not need fancy graphics. I already know what the Concert Hall and Local Library looks like.

With this in mind, does the Android Chrome Browser support
(1) Remove all graphics and send to me ONLY text characters?
(2) Reinstate graphics display (that is, reverse the setting from (1)?
(3) Inhibit loading the most recent web page (I no longer am interested in the Eaton Chelsea Hotel Fall Booking Extravaganza, thank you very much)?

I am not interested in "adult-content" or web site filters.
It's just that when I am using the Data plan (as distinct from free WiFi), i need only the time of the concert. Or indeed, to know that it has not been cancelled.

Thanks for any tips.

I don't know of an option to do this in Chrome. Firefox for Android does have the ability to block images.
Best wishes,
Hans

You can also take a look at Opera Mini for Android (there is also a standard version of the browser). Small footprint and it's possible to change settings for image resolution, and also disable them. It will also compress web pages etc (it routes the data via their servers), with different settings (high & extreme data saving, I think), and there is also some settings for ad-blocking.
