Microsoft Edge does not support extensions

Post by BobArch2 »

I recently installed Win10 Home on my HP Stream 7 tablet. My password manager, 1Password, is not present in Edge. Reason, as stated by AgileBits is that Microsoft have yet to include extensions in MS Edge.

I have changed my default browser from Edge to IE11 and 1Password is working fine.
Regards,
Bob

Edge is clearly far from finished; it's currently very limited. Support for extensions will probably be added later this year - Microsoft has already shown a few experimental extensions running in a test version of Edge.
Best wishes,
Hans

So what is the latest regarding Firefox and Thunderbird for Windows 10?
I read where Mozilla is "planning" a brand new Fx for Win 10 but it hasn't been released yet? TB ?
( maybe this should be moved to either Firefox or Windows 10 Forums? )

I don't use Thunderbird myself, but Firefox works without problems for me, including the (few) extensions I use.
Best wishes,
Hans

Hopefully, MS adds some more functionality to Edge before too long. I've found a few things lacking and a few things that I'm not completely satisfied with, but IT IS FAST - at least in comparison to the latest version of Chrome running on the same computer. :crossfingers:

Yes, it's promising but not really ready for prime time.
Rumors are that Edge will eventually be able to run (most) Chrome extensions.
Best wishes,
Hans
