The announcement of Fx 10 caused me to look to see if mine had auto-updated yet. It has not; however I noticed for the first time that my menu contains the usual File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools and Help - but it also contains a Yahoo!.
I don't know how it got there. I don't use yahoo. I could find nothing in CP/Add_Delete_Programs labeled "Yahoo." It does not appear in my list of search engines.

Check your list of Firefox add-ons for any Yahoo related extensions. For details of how to uninstall extensions see Uninstalling add-ons - Mozilla Knowledge base

It's an add-on. To remove it:
- Select Tools | Add-Ons or press Ctrl+Shift+A.
- Locate Yahoo! Toolbar in the list and select it.
- Click Disable or (if available) Remove.

Thank you!
This must be one of my mandatory senility periods. It didn't occur to be to check Add-ons.
It's gone now!!! Also, the process involved a restart which updated my Fx to 10.1 in the process.
