I was notified that an update was available for the player for IE and Firefox. The update for IE was installed with no problem. When I opened Firefox and went to the Adobe Download Center and found the update for Firefox, it was the same version as the one for IE. I installed the player which was downloaded by the Adobe Flash layer 10.1 Installer.
I went to the Find Your Version site webpage and it showed I had 10.1.102.,64 installed. I tried ithe download twice with the same prior version showing up.
Should I delete the player on Firefox and try again or is there something else I should do first?

Problem installing Flash Player 10.2
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive & well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, red wine in the other, body thoroughly used up. Totally worn out & screaming "Wow, Wee What a ride!

Re: Problem installing Flash Player 10.2
Try uninstalling Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin from the Programs and Features control panel. (Do not uninstall Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX, that is the Internet Explorer version).
Then try to install the new version again in Firefox.
Or download the manual installer from Troubleshoot Flash Player installation.

Failure, failure all over the place. After following your suggestions for fixing Flash Player, I tried the download again from the player download page, I used the manual installer, went back to Find Your Version and I still have the older version.HansV wrote:Try uninstalling Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin from the Programs and Features control panel. In Firefox I went to the plugin list and no Flash Player was listed.
Somethings rotten and not in Denmark either. Any more suggestions?

I'm not familiar with "Find Your Version." Did you try Adobe's "about" page?
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Also, I have started using a direct link to the plugin download rather than clicking through the installation options:
Firefox:
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashpl ... player.exe" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
IE:
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashpl ... yer_ax.exe" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here's the link for Find Your Version: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;jscher2000 wrote:I'm not familiar with "Find Your Version." Did you try Adobe's "about" page?

I'm not sure if I should install it again because it's listed in Control Panel as Adobe Flash Player Plugin, installed 2/10/2011.
Product Version: 10,2,152,26
If you think that I should start over again, I will return to your post and try the links you so kindly supplied.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Problem installing Flash Player 10.2
If Control Panel mentions the correct version, I would leave it at that and stop worrying.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Problem installing Flash Player 10.2
That's the problem, I have version 10.1 for Firefdox, IE has version 10.2. The latest verion for the player on Firefox matches the one for IE. But if 10.2 Isn't required for FF, I will stop worrying about it.HansV wrote:If Control Panel mentions the correct version, I would leave it at that and stop worrying.

Re: Problem installing Flash Player 10.2
You mentioned that control panel lists version 10,2,152,26 for Adobe Flash Player Plugin. Adobe Flash Player Plugin is the version for Firefox!
Best wishes,
Hans

You caught me once again. I certainly did and I apoligize for making that mistake.
Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed and yesterday was one of those days. Bottom line, I'll stop worrying about it.
