To enable the feature in Firefox 3.6 (this will not work in Firefox 3.5), you need to type about:config into the location bar and press enter.
Accept the warning message that pops up, you will then see a list of hidden settings.
Locate the setting browser.taskbar.previews.enable and double-click on it to change its value to true

Re: Preview Pane in FF3.6
R u saying we no longer need CoolPreviews in 3.6? I hadn't gotten that far in adding my favourites yet, so this is great info....

Re: Preview Pane in FF3.6
Keep CoolPreviews, this just makes the preview in the task bar work like it does in IE.

Re: Preview Pane in FF3.6
That's nice - thanks! (I just switched to Windows 7 and already like the taskbar preview feature)
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Preview Pane in FF3.6
The reason this feature is switched off by default in Firefox 3.6 is because it is full of bugs. You will often find that it will not work, you may frequently get blank previews with the spinning site loading icon.

Re: Preview Pane in FF3.6
So this is a Win 7 / FF 3.6 thing, it doesn't apply to FF3.6 on other version of Windows?
Certainly nothing seemed to happen when I turned on this feature in FF3.6 on XP MCE.

Re: Preview Pane in FF3.6
Yes, it's specific to Windows 7. If you hover the mouse over a taskbar button of an application, you'll see thumbnails of the items opened in this application. In the screenshot below, the mouse pointer (not included in the picture) is over the Firefox taskbar button.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Preview Pane in FF3.6
I tried this a while back and couldn't get the thumbnail previews to work when I have multiple Firefox tabs open. You are supposed to see a preview of each tab open and all I see is one thumbnail of whichever tab I am on. I suspect the reason is because I use the Tab Kit add-on.

Hi Sherry,
Welcome to Eileen's Lounge!
The thumbnail preview feature works OK for me with Firefox 3.6 on Windows 7, but TonyE (who is close to the source) noted higher up in this thread that it is still buggy, so your experience is not exceptional.

It also works well for me, though I also use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2207 Cool Previews and I've been very pleased with its performance.HansV wrote:Hi Sherry,
