Firefox Collusion; also Bit.ly "plus"

Post by ChrisGreaves »

A recent TVO podcast http://ww3.tvo.org/video/174232/big-bad-data brought to my attention two browser aspects.

(1) Firefox has an add-on Collusion :-
Collusion is an experimental add-on for Firefox and allows you to see all the third parties that are tracking your movements across the Web. It will show, in real time, how that data creates a spider-web of interaction between companies and other trackers.

(2) bit.ly accepts a trailing plus sign:-
http://bitly.com/pages/help and scroll about 1/3 the way down to the heading "Beyond basics: Capturing data and using metrics"
Every bitly link has an info page, which reveals the number of related clicks and other relevant data. You can get to the info page in a few different ways.

I haven't had an opportunity to work with these; they might be of interest to some of us.
