Metastream Plugin

Post by Bigaldoc »

Yesterday Firefox popped up a window saying that the Metastream plugin has been disabled for security reasons.

That's OK with me since I don't know where the heck it came from or what its purpose is. When I Google it, I get a number of hits that WOT marks with RED, so I don't go there either. In one of those Google hits, the following sentence WAS visible:

    • With our Viewpoint Media Player browser plug-in, you can display the most visually striking and effective rich media-based interactive marketing and advertising ...

Since I don't usually visit "bad" sites, I assume I must've picked it up from some well meaning site with video. Hmmm... Anyone else have this experience? Whatever it was I'd like to avoid it in the future, but that's a tough one at this stage.
