Excel VBA editor keeps opening up

Hi,

What might cause this behaviour where the VBA window keeps opening up over Excel when Excel opens up? According to the user, they do not have any macro's in the Personal Macro workbook (which was my initial assumption). I have encountered this in the past too, and am now interested to find out if anyone knows why and what causes this. TX.

Does the user simply get the Visual Basic Editor or does it open in debug mode?
Does the VBE get the focus or is it opened behind Excel?

Hi,

Chatting to the user, they say it activates the moment excel gets focus. (Even when they unlock their workstation and excel is open, then it pops up the VB Editor. The editor open over excel, (not behind it) and it is not in debug mode. The module apparently is blank.

Jan; they are not aware of any new add-ins that have been activated, although this is a possibility as add-in updates are often done automatically. I can troubleshoot their PC by switching off all add-ins and systematically activating them to see who is the culprit.

That sounds like a long-standing bug. If they unmaximise the VBE and resize the window manually, it should go away. (assuming it's the same issue)

Weird one. I'll bear that in mind if the other advise does not resolve the issue.
