Excel and Word - Overwrite Cell option
I have a customer who copies a cell in Excel and uses “paste special” in Word to paste into a Word cell. She doesn’t always have the overwrite cell option available. Anyone know why that would be? Is it unreliable? Is there something missing from the Excel cell or the Word cell where it doesn’t allow that option to appear? Just need to see if I can fix it in some way. Thank you.

Re: Excel and Word - Overwrite Cell option
Welcome to Eileen's Lounge!
This appears to be a quirk/bug in Word. When I try this, the 'Overwrite Cells' option is displayed if I right-click a cell in any column except the first one. It does not appear if I right-click in the first column.
As a workaround, paste into another column, then copy again. The 'Overwrite Cells' option should then appear in the first column too.
