Line spacing option missing

I downloaded an article from the web which had spasmodic double line spacing which I want to replace with normal spacing so hit the F1 key and looked for the answer which indicated the line spacing tab should be under the Format tab but as the first screen shot shows it is not there. I checked in Tools > Customize > Format and it is shown. Any idea why it is not under "Format" tab as claimed? Dave.

Your screenshot shows the Format menu, not the Formatting toolbar. The Formatting toolbar is displayed beneath the menu bar.

..simple when one knows where to look..... clicked the "Show buttons on two rows" tab and up it popped. Many thanks Dave.
