In a Word 2007 document with ~ 200 pages and ~150 figures, after I moved some figures around, I tried Ctrl+A, F9 to update the figure captions and cross-references in the text, but nothing (not even an hourglass) happened.
F9-ing an individual caption updates it. Selecting a small subset of pages and figures updates as expected. Any ideas on how I can do the whole document in one shot?

Ctrl+A followed by F9 should update all fields that are not locked. See if the problem persists after restarting Windows.
