Change template

Post by silverback »

I'm trying to change the Word Template. Something has happened, presumably during a download, and the default font for Word is now Aptos Size 11. Well, I never set that.
But I can't find the Word template. I tried Help, but when I try to follow the path to the template, I just get errors saying I don't have permission to access the file/folder.
How can I reset the default font to something I want, please?
Thanks

Aptos is the new default font in Microsoft 365 apps.

Create a new document.
Right-click the Normal style in the Styles group of the Home tab of the ribbon.
Select Modify... from the context menu.
Select the font you want to use from the Font drop-down, and if necessary also the font size.
Near the bottom of the Modify Style dialog, select "New documents based on this template".
Click OK.
Quit Word. You do not have to save the document that you created just now, but if Word asks whether you want to save changes to the default template, click Yes.
Restart Word. It should now use the font that you specified.
Best wishes,
Hans

This is part of the Microsoft revamp of Word - a change to the default fonts.
See http://wordfaqs.ssbarnhill.com/Customiz ... mplate.htm.
