I'm not sure where to post this one, so I have put it in the Word forum, but I'd be happy to move it if anyone has a better suggestion.
I am looking for a font where the digit 9 doesn't look like a 6 when it is seen upside down. Ideally a simple figure with a vertical side and a round top.
I have a diagram where the orientation is important for other reasons, but this is causing confusion!
Font with 9 that doesn't look like an upside down 6

Not a great deal of nice choices...

I think you have detected where almost all typographers decide to save a bit of effort in creating a 9 glyph by simply rotating a 6 glyph through 180°!

In most situations, a symmetrical 6 and 9 is aesthetically more satisfying too.

Hans: yes - usually a win-win!
Stuart: how about using an underline below the digit? 6 or 9

These digits are in very small rectangular shapes in Visio, I suspect that underlining might not fit
Edited to add...
I just tried this and the underline is very pale, I can barely see it. I can't see any option to change the underline color or thickness.

Oh, OK. I have never found a way to change underline thickness...
