Say I have a paragraph with the word 'harbor' in it and I would to search all other text with that word but not that word in the selected text.

Hope this makes my question clearer. Thank you.

Let's see what others say, but I don't think that's an option.
Best wishes,

I have no idea what "search all other text with that word but not that word" means

Hi Uncle,

I'm using Word in Office 365, up-to-date. I just tested searching with the Navigation Pane and here's how it ought to work.

Enter your search text in the search box. Press Enter. You should see something like this:
Nav Pane Search 01.jpg

Notice that all instances of the search term is found, but the first instance is selected. Click the Results tab to see a list of all the places the search criteria was found in the document.
Nav Pane Search 02.jpg

You can now click in the Navigation Pane to move to each instance of the text you're looking for. Does this address your issue?

Best, Kim
