NUMPAGES field can this be set?

i have a word template made up of 3 sections.
the first section is a letter
the second section is made up of text details
the third section is a copy of the letter in the 1st section.

If i add the page number field "NumPages", these are the results I want:
ie Page 1 of { NUMPAGES \* Arabic \* MERGEFORMAT }
section 1 = contains 3 pages therefore display display total pages of section 1 ie . eg page 1 of 3
section 2 = dont need to display page numbers
section 3 = contains 3 pages therefore display total pages of section 3 eg. page 1 of 3


This is what actually is displaying:
section 1 = contains 3 pages therefore display page 1 of 10
section 2 = dont need to display page numbers
section 3 = contains 3 pages therefore display page 1 of 10

is there way to reset totalpage number fields for a section/area?
any valid switches I can use?
or bookmark the area as in can create a TOC just for a bookmarked area.

any other possible solutions?

Instead of NUMPAGES, use the SECTIONPAGES field. This displays the number of pages within the section.
