Two-year support countdown for Windows XP and Office 2003

Post by John Gray »

Support for Windows XP and Office 2003 finishes on 8 April 2014.

"If you still have some PCs running Windows XP and Office 2003 in your organisation, now would be a good time to start migrating them to Windows 7 and Office 2010." (my emphasis!)

However,
Should you wait
For Windows 8
And whatever version of Office follows 2010?

 where I work, the whole network is still XP based. I assume there is a plan to migrate to something else by the 2014 deadline.

Mine too! Many of our PCs are so olde that they wouldn't be able to run Windows 7 (although I've just got rid of seven which were more than seven years old...)

Good luck with your migration. Tackling this issue here though is "above my pay check" as they are reported to say across the pond.

On another note, going off topic somewhat, :blackteeth: Vista, if anyone remembers that OS, went into extended support Tuesday this week.

As for Windows XP and Office 2003, I'll have a serious chat with myself in a year, since there is such a PC within this organisation.
