One of the irritants of booting is that one must wait for the programs in the start menu to load before Windows XP allows one to interact. I realize that I could just take programs out of the start menu and start them manually, but I'd really like to be able to schedule programs to start 'n' minutes after WIndows boots.
Does anyone know if this is possible in WIndows XP SP3? If so, I'd sure appreciate a how-to.
Thanks.

You might try Startup Delayer (free).
"Startup Delayer allows you to setup how many seconds after Windows has started, to load each program."

I downloaded Startup Delayer and installed it. I will give it a try for a few days to try to get the timings to my liking and report back in.
Thanks for the link. I guess my search argument skills also need improvement, huh?

Hopefully Hans is at least somewhat dissimilar to Gail Trimble; if not in his encyclopaedic knowledge, then at least in other aspects, given that Ms. Trimble is 28 and, well, female.John Gray wrote:It is because Hans is a Human Google, not dissimilar to Gail Trimble...

You're right, I think Hans is a bit older than that.
