Shut down stops

I now have an unusual problem, my XP-PRO SP3 system which had the RAID issue (see post elsewhere) now stops (not hangs) when shutting down.
The system tray icons disappear and about 5 or 6 are still there and nothing further happens. Whether this is residual from removing the RAID or is another issue is unknown. It is almost as if there is a program that is not closing.

Whenever I had such problems in XP I would re-install SP3 which generally fixed things.

I reckon after many months that the problem is with Copernic, if I shut down that program then the system shuts down normally.

I have tested this procedure for about two months and it has not failed, updated Copernic but the problem continued.
