Service Stuck at: Starting

Post by jstevens »

I have an XP Service stuck on "starting". I have tried restarting and a full-power down but that has not resolved the challenge.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Do you know which service is causing the problem?

It's a service for Executive Undelete.

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the software but that did not resolve the issue.

You might try uninstalling, then reinstalling Executive Undelete - it should be listed in the Add or Remove Programs control panel.

If add/remove doesn't work, try REVO Uninstaller to really dig out the remnants of Executive Undelete. The reinstall EU.

Bob,

Thanks for the link. I looked at the DCOM Configuration and noticed the issue was here. Clicked on Start>Run and typed in "dcomcnfg" to review the setting there.
