Since the upgrade, the email notifications of new posts have become just that, notifications. In the olden days, these messages also contained the text of the post. Presumably that's a customisation that's ben lost and that may / may not be restored at some point?

Re: post text not longer in email notification
Yes, that is a change caused by the update.
We have decided to leave it as it is (at least for now). In the past, we had users replying to the email notification instead of in the forum; only the admins would see that reply...

"Since the upgrade, the email notifications of new posts have become just that, notifications." At 3pm, (USA, Daylight saving time) I got the message from 7ProSP1 in the email notification....

Re: post text no longer in email notification
It was in my email, not the Notifications in the Lounge.
This is what I received in the email:

I'm not sure what to make of this, but when I turned my Windows 7 machine on a little while ago I was surprised to see a notification pop up that there were new updates available.
Here's what it was:
Security Intelligence Update for Windows Defender Antivirus - KB915597 (Version 1.315.12.0)
Download size: 49.3 MB
Update type: Important
Install this update to revise the files that are used to detect viruses, spyware, and other potentially unwanted software. Once you have installed this item, it cannot be removed.
I checked my update history and the last update I was offered for Windows Defender was:
Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB915597 (Definition 1.235.23.0)
Installation date: 01/10/2017 9:19 AM
Installation status: Successful
Update type: Important
Install this update to revise the definition files used to detect spyware and other potentially unwanted software. Once you have installed this item, it cannot be removed.
I don't even use Windows Defender, so why all of a sudden after almost 2 1/2 years am I being offered an update for it?
Should I go ahead and install it or would it just be better to hide it?
Any insight, advice and expertise on this matter is greatly appreciated.
Hope this helps.

Re: post text no longer in email notification
I have that sketch in my head when I read this Thread, the one from Monty Python's Life of Brian, where that chap, Alan, is hung in chains to the wall, and I think Brian is saying to him that he only gets plain Notifications without the text of the post … the bloke replies .. Oh , I dream of having plain notifications, I haven’t had a single notification since the Server change.

Re: post text no longer in email notification
Hi Ken,
I am happy to receive Notifications, and I am not sure about providing a posts's TEXT in the notification, if only because we should be receiving a notification if one or more replies have been posted. Undoubtedly the first reply triggers a notification, but why should the text of the first reply be more important then the text of the second (etc) reply?
Cheers
Chris
