File Explorer Window

Post by Ted Myers »

Hello, on Windows 11 24H2, when I open the Recycle Bin then click the 3 horizontal dots, the options always open upwards regardless of page onscreen position. My image shows the page lower to see all.

If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have NO luck at all.

I don't have Win 11 24H2 so I can't check to see if I get the problem you have, but I can confirm that on 23H2 the context menu that appears when you click on the three dots appears, as you'd expect, as a dropdown.

It's not specific to the Recycle Bin. It's a bug in File Explorer - I see it too in 24H2.
Best wishes,
Hans

Hello Hans, I know it does it for other settings, it was just that I found it using Recycle Bin.

:hmmn: Shouldn't something as obvious as that have been fixed before Win 11 24H2 was released?

I have a group policy in place (I have Win 11 Pro) that means I won't get 24H2 for at least another couple of months. Hopefully the obvious stuff like, this 'feature', will be fixed by the time it reaches me.

Ken, I have 2 laptops of the same make but different models, both are pretty new. 1 has been updated but not the other.

Yes, MS releases updates like these in a rolling fashion. However, regardless of when MS push 24H2 to my machine, my machine will not update unless it's at least 100 days since 24H2 was first released. This because the Pro version of Windows allows you to set something called a Group Policy that will delay the deployment of feature upgrades like 24H2.
