Clock gadget

Post by Michael Abrams »

I'm a bit behind here - IT just upgraded us to Windows 10.

Is there anywhere in Win10 that I can find a clock to place on my desktop?

I presume the every visible time and date in the System Tray at the right hand end of the Task Bar is not enough for your needs?

In which case, does this help:

I love having a clock/calendar on my desktop.

Using Start/Alarms & Clock I only receive the attached.

My IT/Security people won't allow downloads

Thanks for the link.

As far as I know your screen shot is all there is built into Windows, i.e as far as I know without a download that's as good as you'll get.

Someone else might know otherwise though.

Or you could just learn to click on the small time and date in the System Tray to make it pop-up and be easier to read, plus get a calendar as a bonus, every time you want to know the time.

Wait until you upgrade to Windows 11. Then you won't even get the time when you click on the date/time in the taskbar...

HAHAHA - It took my company until last week to upgrade from Windows 7 :brickwall:

I am retiring in 2 years, so not likely will see Windows 11.

Thanks HansV

Just out of interest, what happens when you click on this expand icon button thingy:

...or does it just hide the calendar?

That depends on your point of view. When I moved to Bonavista the house was left for me fully furnished, clocks everywhere on the walls, the stove, the microwave etc.
First thing I did was remove the batteries from all the clocks for storage, and set the clock hands at 10:50.
Every clock except the stove, which winks at me after a power-outage and so tells me, day after day, how many hours it was since I woke up on the day after the power outage.
So regardless where I am in the house or shed, if I glance up at a clock, "It's time for elevenses".:coffeetime:
Works for me.
Cheers
