Playing with Photos

Post by silverback »

I've just spent a very frustrating afternoon trying to help a neighbour who's downloaded Windows 10 (I'm still on good old wonderful XP).
What he wants to do is plug in his IPAD and have some software display the photos so he can then select which ones to import.
I think I managed to get into Windows Photo(?) but when I clicked Import, the offer was to import every picture it found on the IPAD - but without any preview.
Presumably Windows Picture and Fax Viewer has bitten the dust - certainly I couldn't find it.

Was I not driving the Application properly?
Is there (built in) software which does what he wants?

Thanks
Silverback

PS : Is there any Help in Windows 10? I couldn't find any. :hairout:

He can use his iPad to display the photos and select the ones he wants and send them to Dropbox (a free app). He can then collect them from Dropbox on his PC. I'm not certain as I've not done it in a while, but I think he can copy the pics in iPad to a newly created album then upload the album to Dropbox. If not, I am certain that he can do them one at a time.
