I have kept Windows 7 on my desktop waiting a while before upgrading to 10, but have a laptop which had Windows 8.1 which I hated only made bearable by using classic shell start menu. So didn't hesitate to upgrade to 10 on this.....and can't say I've regretted it....no major problems for me and I consider it worthwhile with just a few minor personal setting quirks.
However I miss Solitaire and would rather not pay a subscription. Googling shows links to solitaire downloads and from here how to geek some instructions to this link download win 7 games Anyone have experience of this and will it be safe to try it?

That download link seems to take you to Mediafire - WOT gives it a very poor rating on all counts.

You can play Solitaire for free on Windows 10 if you can live with the advertisements...
Best wishes,

I've downloaded and successfully installed the Win 7 game package to which the How-To Geek article refers. I've encountered absolutely no problems.
As for the WOT ratings, I'm using the WOT extension in Chrome, and MediaFire is ranked as Excellent.

Confusing! I'm using IE 11 - I'll have another looksee later on. Perhaps I'm selecting the wrong download route

Download Simple Solitaire from this site and you'll have Solitaire with advertisements. They appear unobtrusively in the upper left corner.
My husband (PaulW on this forum) installed it on his machine. No complaints thus far!

Re: windows 7 games on windows 10
Got my old standby Win 7 Games from here:

Click on Download through your browser, save the zip file, scan it, unzip, rescan then install.
I did all the scanning and found nothing bad.
