WhatsApp - deleting messages older than x days

Is there a way (a tool?) that allows me to automatically delete WhatsApp chats (incl. pictures and videos) that are older than a given # of days (e.g. one year)?
Now all these things are stored locally and backed-up in Google but I don't want all that. AFAIK, I can either delete all or nothing via WA itself.
I searched a bit on the net but couldn't yet find a tool / way for this.

I can't find anything either, there doesn't seem to be a way to do that.

So far there is no tool or method to delete WhatsApp messages automatically but soon Facebook and WhatsApp are about to launch this feature.

I read that too... but that appears to be a 'per chat' setting and will delete all. Not an "photo's and/or video's and/or chats older than x days" type of things which I believe would be much better...
(Would be a piece of cake to make an app that does this I guess ;-))

If you open WhatsApp, go to the Calls part, click the 3 dots you can clear the call log.
