This is for an essentially charity organization, whose budget is rather small. The ones I found are $20 and $60. The difference seems to be the "tap" vs. swipe & PIN functionality. I wonder if people (users) would be more inclined to use one in preference to the other?

My thoughts would be the "tap" system (or even the contactless / near field communication) system. Its more gimmicky and new. I use the tap system fairly often in restaurants. One popular chain started with the system and a number of other restaurants have now adopted this payment method. I think that in the USA the majority I see are swipe not tap. I suspect tap will take over as time goes on. I have no particular preference.
