Shortcut keys to activate keyboard input languages

Post by jmt356 »

I have my two keyboard input methods set as United States (US International Keyboard) and a foreign language. I have tried programming the keyboard shortcut to for input languages as ctrl 7 / ctrl 8, respectively, shift + ctrl 7 / shift + ctrl 8, respectively, and left alt + shift 7 / left alt + shift 8, respectively. None of these work for getting the keyboard back to United States (US International Keyboard), though they work for getting the language into the foreign language. Currently, my only way of switching between the languages on the keyboard is either through the mouse or through alt + shift. Is there a reason the above shortcuts are not working?

JMT

Can you tell us how you set the keyboard shortcuts? Did you use the method shown in Introducing Windows 8: How to Switch Between Keyboard Input Languages?
Best wishes,
Hans

I went through Control Panel | Languages | Advanced Settings | Change language bar Hot Keys.

It's a very long and roundabout article and in any case, my language shortcuts are now working!
