In all my versions of Access (2003,2007 and 2010) there are at least 2 keys which show incorrect values as I type, they are:
@2 key shows "2 so @ shows as "
" ' key shows @ ' so the " shows as @
What is going on do you think?
I just noticed it is the same in Word and Excel as well

That's not an Access problem, but a keyboard layout problem. Check Control Panel > Regional and Language Options (or similar) > Keyboards and Languages > Change Keyboards.

I am operating in Windows 8, there is no Regional and Language Options, or at least I cannot find them.
I realised after my initial post it was not an Access problem, sorry about that.
