Expanding omelettes

Post by ChrisGreaves »

Sunday brunch is omelette. Three eggs. Occasionally with cheese, but there never seems to be a heel of cheese lying around lately,

but I do have three dozen jars of pumpkin pulp, made from pumpkins that I couldn't get rid of last Halloween.
So what could be more natural than to bulk out a three-egg omelette with a huge wad of pumpkin pulp, a dash of ground black pepper, and scissored tops of onions that have sprouted in the kitchen cupboards.
A yummy dish, got me through two chapters of a book, too!
Caution: This can fill your stomach so much that you feel the need to lie down on the couch and get no work done for a while.
Cheers, Chris

Do they expand in your stomach?

I don't think so (I'm taking this as a serious question). Yesterday i think the main impact was just the extra initial volume.
My regular omelette is three eggs, which i have found quite filling.
Adding an equal volume of pumpkin pulp means that I have doubled the volume entering through my mouth.
Hence, I suppose, my sluggish feeling that lasted until close to 2pm.
