Did I ever tell you about the large aquarium that I and the stucklings once encountered in such an establishment?

We were in Austria, walking back down a mountain and had stopped at an Inn for a cool refreshing ice-cream. We didn't look at the food menu so I can't say if fish was on offer or not

Beautiful pictures Ken, and Hans; but the topic, "it's still spring", I'm not even sure if it has arrived. Well, it has, definitely. But not to that extent (the weather boffins said around 5-9 March for southern Sweden, but there are great differences between the southern, middle and northern parts, for obvious reasons).

Hmm, yes, fair comment. I was being too local and hinting at the fact that here in the UK we've had some very mild weather recently, 18/19degC, over 20 in the south. For us two warm days in a row = summer.

I thought the definion of summer in the UK was "Two warm days followed by a thunderstorm"...
Best wishes,

Mebbe not as pretty as the flowers you fellas showed, but one of my favorite signs of Spring in Kentucky - the forsythia are in full bloom. This one at the Keeneland race course here in Lexington. Spring meeting starts today.

No problem, we can't have the same weather and seasons everywhere ... Easter is late this year, but I've been in the UK around this time, and it can be very beautiful. I expect the summer to arrive on time 13 May in the Stockholm region (No, it's true, according to statistics for 1961-1990, and last year it did arrive on time!).

Ah, we see it here as well; I call it "spring hubris".

In Utah, though we have had one 70ºF day this year, we're getting winter's last blasts. There's about 10" of snow at my house, and I skiied yesterday in about 18" of powder, it was great. :snow: The mountain snow pack levels are around 140% of average, and the snow base at Alta, the resort which typically has the most snow in Utah, sits at over 189" (yes, 189", over 15 feet of snow).

But most resorts close the 17th, because the tourists are gone, so the locals are ignored. :weep:
