Vegas, by all that is holy Ignore HeyJude's plea for snow!
She is a known troublemaker  and issues these pleas for snow wherever she can get a word in edgewise.
The vast majority of us are already tired of seeing white stuff draped across the $329 laptops in the stores; not to mention Bing Wossname singing about it in every coffee-shop in the land.

The snow removal activities are certainly "invigorating." My back gets sore thinking about it. :ouch:

The only appropriate response that comes to mind is:

Let It Snow

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It doesn't show signs of stopping,
And I've bought some corn for popping,
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight,
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm.

The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we're still good-bying,
But as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

I have to thank James Taylor for his rendition  :flee:

Happy holidays... hope everyone gets to where they want to be, eventually. Just think, though, 100 years ago it wasn't possible to get stuck in an airport...
Are we advancing or retreating?
Best wishes to all,
MishMish

here's what Tennessee, USA looked like a few days ago--we're due for more snow on Dec. 24 and 25.

I took the liberty to replace the PDF files with a copy of the picture they contained.

Beautiful picture, by the way!

Thanks, Hans!!
yes, I call it "Catlinburg"... since it's an A-frame (very popular in a Tennessee resort named Gatlinburg, over in the Smoky Mountains near North Carolina), and I have two cats--MishMish and Charlie Alpha Tango.

Yes. Nice, cheap, quite durable, as long as it doesn't melt, more snow doesn't matter much as long as it's not another 10-12 inches. Guess most, or quite many, people in Sweden have built one as kids.

I agree with Hans; it's the same here; snow or leaves, doesn't matter. Well, the snow is usually the biggest problem.
Love this by Matt Pritchett, at the Telegraph.

And this one; has it got further away?

What a beautiful morning; calm, minus 20, crisp, very light snowfall, just a few centimetres, adding to what's already there. (Not exactly as warm as this beautiful morning. )

However, it's getting warmer and we, as several parts of Europe, may get some more snow around the holidays.

It's expected to be 6~9C today in Arnex-sur-Nyon. In laws are flying in from Bristol today, and it looks like they will make it with only minor delays. Talk about mixed feelings.

It's been raining non-stop for two days, thank goodness it's warmed up, and all we have left is a few lumps of dirty off-white snow.

It is forecast to get cold again, below 0C, on the weekend so we could still have a white Christmas - although a soggy one.
