Re: in case you haven't heard...
Believe me I was in my element in the top picture, the guys behind me were my training partner, George, at the back and David at the front just behind me. About 5 minutes before that picture was taken we were all screaming with laughter when David slipped in the snowy slush causing me to land on him and then George trying to catch us both and then falling on his backside as well.HansV wrote:You look happier with more snow on the ground...
I don't care what age you are you can still have fun in the stuff....to a point. Me, I am just glad to see the thaw outside the Log Cabin

After three days of light snow with little or no accumulation (2-3 inches max) the temperature for a normally warmer clime, is 17°F (-8°C). Brrrrr... It's too cold to go outside...

It rained all day yesterday, and is up to 9C today. So much for snow. To help celebrate the end of winter I've changed Avatar. Not only does it have a red hat, it follows my dream

Here we go, one week after the first picture. Don't think I'll use it with our Christmas cards ...

Man oh man, this crazy Kentucky weather is too much for my old bones! The current temperature is 7°F (-14°C ?) and it's been that way for a few days! The little light snows we had are mostly gone too, but it's REALLY cold. My heavy parka feels good, including the HOOD!

I'm glad to be one in this cold! <LOL> When I got up it was 8°F, then 7° and now 6° ... And the "high" today might get to 20° but it's still cold as .... well, you know...
PS Is that a Christmas windmill in your avatar?

It's a real windmill whose reefing stage and arms have been outlined by strings of lights.
Best wishes,

It's -16.5C here in sunny MN and it's supposed to again here tomorrow. No pictures because all my windows were visited by a Mr. Frost and I'm not going outside unless my tazmanian devil dog wants to, you know, make snow angels.

When I came home this afternoon, my car thermometer said 23°F and it felt like a "heat wave!"

I had to study that avatar when you first changed it.HansV wrote:Yes, it isBigaldoc wrote:PS Is that a Christmas windmill in your avatar?

I thought it was some Chinese character or something.
I can now make it out as to what it really is, as a nicely decorated windmill. ( no offense intended )

Re: in case you haven't heard...
Heh, if you take a look at the thread above your post, I think all but Bowlie mention their location in their member profile so that it shows up next to the user picture and other information in every post, in the mini profile. And Bowlie mentioned Geneva, and thus a country, in his second post in this thread.hlewton wrote:Not sure exactly where you guys live but Europe and the UK is making news locally here in the Ohio, USA because of the cold and snow you have been getting recently.
So, I think it's the opposite; we are not sure exactly where you live. At least until that post were you mentioned the USA. On the other hand, I don't think it's that important to mention location in the profile.
It's been quite cold here for weeks; then if it snows etc., the temp will go up a bit. At the moment it's -10°C.

Not to worry everybody - I was able to dig out of my 2' of snow thanks to a neighbor with a snow blower and they finally started thinking about plowing the roads so we can get around. Not so much our poor Metrodome....http://www.myfoxtwincities.com/dpp/news ... ec-12-2010
