ooo la la

Post by stuck »

Last night my wife and I went out for a meal, to a nominally French restaurant. We'd been to the restaurant before but before lockdowns. It was nice to go back and even nicer to find the service and food as excellent as we'd remembered.

What we didn't remember from last time was a particular line on the menu. Under 'Les Desserts', amongst classics like 'creme brulee' and 'tarte tatin and 'les fromages' there was an offering of 'le sticky toffee pudding'

Vive la Franglais!

If it's to be ooo la la, why not Le Spotted Dick?
Best wishes,

...why not Le Spotted Dick?
 I could send them a message and ask if they have any plans to add that to their menu.

Why didn't the restaurant simply translate
"sticky toffee pudding"
as
"pouding au caramel adhésif"?

I'm sorry John, but I haven't a glue.
