The Dutch definitely got screwed out of a corner kick close to the end but I watched the Spanish goal in slo-mo three times and the Spanish shooter was definitely NOT offside.

I was at my son's home watching the game and I left to come home immediately after. By the time I just got here, I had an email from my son saying that during the awards ceremony it looked like the Dutch coach ripped off his runnerup medal and (maybe) threw it down. I'll have to check the news for that one...

Spain didn't do many goals, no more than needed, and they won the World Cup. Have to congratulate them.

I still think that Maarten Stekelenburg, goal keeper, did a good match.

Also South Africa, well done. But I can live without the vuvuzela.

Al,
No, I think he just took off the medal, when he walked down, as far as I saw.

Breaking News!!!!

Spain has won the World Cup.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive & well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, red wine in the other, body thoroughly used up. Totally worn out & screaming "Wow, Wee What a ride!

I saw him rip off the medal and lower his arm towards the floor, he could have thrown it down. Some people can't bear to lose and I am well aware of the feeling.

On the news this morning the DJ opened the news with the headline: "Switzerland triumphs over Spain in World Cup classic". He went on to add he was talking about the first game in Group H, about a million days ago, but it did wake me up ...

Don't blame me, I heard it from stuckling1, who got it from a free newspaper - so it must be true.

After Nigeria was eliminated from the world cup the Nigerian goalkeeper has personally offered to refund all the expenses of fans that travelled to South Africa.

He said he just needs their bank details and pin numbers to complete the transaction.
