Am I the only one who is offed in a urinary sense by the insidious creep of non-privacy in the world today?
(silent chorus) Probably.
I just clicked on an icon that said "Save To Drive", which I thought was a good idea with Franky's annual letter; I'll read it tonight with a hot cocoa, I said to myself.
But instead:-
(1) What is essentially a private communication has been sent up into the sky; I have no inkling of who might see it. Noone probably, but my point is that I have no inkling and
(2) When I get home tonight, the xmas letter won't be on my computer; it will be at the other end of my non-existent internet connection.
I miss those 80-column punched cards that stayed in my briefcase

Re: RANT Google Drive
You access Google Drive through your Google Account. The fact that you are logged into your email provides you access to your drive.
If you save the letter to Google Drive, only you can access it after you have logged into your account. It is not sitting there making itself available to the public (unless you decide to share the letter) - and to do that you need to log into your Goggle Drive, select the letter and explicitly share it with varying degrees of visibility.
Without it being explicitly shared, nobody will see or have access to the letter.
Also, being in the cloud, you will have access to it on any device that can connect to the internet; as long as you log into your Google account.

Thanks, Rudi, for the elucidation.Rudi wrote:... you will have access to it on any device that can connect to the internet;
But my second point still holds: if I don't have an internet connection at home (and if I hadn't seen the !flash! comment about Google Drive), I'd be a rather unhappy camper later on this evening when I went to read it.
I still don't see why they have to say "Drive" instread of "Google Cloud" or similar .. parentless offspring that they are

Unfortunately when you get into the cloud it can become a bit foggy.
