A bit more cerebral cortex wouldn't hurt, either

It would be very worrying if you could see the guy's cerebral cortex...

Star Spangled Banner
I find it interesting that the guy took the time and effort to do this.
:ranton: :megashout: However, I do find it a bit insulting to do it to the Star Spangled Banner. Play another song.
I put his effort into the same category as the person who sings the Anthem at the opening of a sports event and feel they have to add their own "yodels and gargles" at the end of each line, in order to "modernize" it. :rantoff:
That's my thoughts and I'm sticking to it!

I might be South African but I really like the Australian Anthem. I say this as I mean no disrespect by the link I am posting. Bobs rant just reminded me of the Aussie National Anthem being 'butchered' by an Argentinian tenor as he forgot the words to the song on the rugby field before the Aussie-Argentina Rubgy Championship match...

I was much more irate when Roseanne Barr tried singing the Star Spangled banner back in 1990 than watching the video, but that's just me and I'll stick to that too. BTW I didn't post it to offend anyone, just saying.

That is a very unusual adjective to use with humour.
BTW: Should you not be spelling it as "humor"?

Well, I agree but only partly.

:ranton:

The tune to the Star Spangled Banner was taken from an old English drinking song sung in pubs. I dislike that aspect of the song but under the circumstances they were (reportedly) written, I find the words quite inspiring.

After having resisted for years all suggestions that the US National Anthem be changed, I think perhaps it is time for a new one. I think America the Beautiful would be the perfect choice. And I think it should never be sung but played from a recording. The twits who butcher the Star Spangled Banner should all be horse-whipped by at least a baker's dozen every time they do so. I'll be the first to volunteer. You can be next VikingBob.

The Star Spangled Banner does have a range which can make it difficult to sing- depending on the (Francis Scott) key in which it's sung.

I find the mention of a teepee in that national anthem unusual. You know, that line about the home of the brave.

The old drinking song bit reminds me of Ben Franklin wanting to make a turkey the national bird instead of the eagle. He probably was sipping Old Turkey Bourbon at the time.
