I assumed it was log(4.1) and not ln(4.1) because they were logs and not lns, but I guess the logs were pretty natural.

PS Your first answer, was our first reaction when we came across this log on our walk yesterday but that we quickly moved on to ln(4.1), after all wood is natural.l

Looking at just the picture, which doesn't show the whole pile, I suppose another possible solution is log base 2 (4.1)
