The phone is one of five mobile phones; I hold it with my left hand to my ear.
With my right hand I pencil notes on paper.
This morning I fired up Audacity and recorded MY side of the 35-minute sales call, but not, of course, the other.
I have a spare and cheap $15 microphone-on-a-stand that I could cannibalize to tape the microphone to the ear-area of the mobile phone.
Unless anyone can suggest an alternative?
P.S. there are no phone sockets on the notebook.
P.P.S. The Phone modem (from Rogers, a local cable company) has TWO phone sockets, one of which is in use, also what looks like an ethernet socket, also a small square socket like what goes into my laser jet printer (other end is regular USB)
I can take photos of all this if required.

Re: Recording from the phone?
Are you trying to record both sides of the conversation? Most smart phones can do that, but you need to be aware of the legalities involved.
