Mouse click bounce

Post by Claude »

So annoying:

My mouse's left-click button developed a click bounce, i.e. when I left-click on links or whatever, it actually clicks twice, which creates problems in some programs and websites.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this, other than replacing the mouse ?
Cheers, Claude.

Does Troubleshoot mouse double-clicking when you single-click help? It's written for Microsoft mice, but the general principles apply to other brands too.

If you can open the mouse, you might try cleaning the innards - this has solved problems for me several times.
Best wishes,
Hans

You could just slow down the double click speed...

If you have a Logitech mouse, you'll find that this is a problem with them in general. Some websites recommend blowing into the offending button (I tried this with my recalcitrant Logitech mouse and it worked for a bit. In the end I bought a microsoft mouse.). The theory seems to be that the moist breath frees some stuck bit inside.
