Recuva and Speccy avatars missing
Anyone else have problems with Recuva and Speccy avatars - I had them when I first downloaded the programs but they have since disappeared. I've even tried removing both progs and downloading them again but to no avail. Running Windows 7 (HP) 64 bit

See if Icon Cache - Rebuild - Windows 7 Forums helps.
(I don't have a problem with the icons on my Windows 7 PC)

Re: Recuva and Speccy avatars missing
When you right click these icons and select the properties of them, what is the file path that they are a linked to?
They appear to me, to be the downloaded file, NOT the installed progarm link. If this is true, then the icon is correct, as a standard exe file to do a install would use this default icon.

Dave, the install files have different names, and they have a different icon too:

Have you looked in the Hidden Icons pop up on the lower right side of the taskbar?

Re: Recuva and Speccy avatars missing
Hi Guys,
Tried Hans' solution and it has worked - see pic.
Dave: FYI the path for the icons is c:\program files\recuva\recuva64.exe - same for speccy. The two icons that I've got back were the original ones put on my desktop as part of the installing process. For some reason they just seemed to be replaced by the icons in the first screenshot - I know not why!!
Anyway, many thanks to both for pointers. I've saved Hans' link in case they go missing again!

Thanks Bob. Yes, I did look there - no sign. Hopefully Hans' solution will hold.viking33 wrote:Have you looked in the Hidden Icons pop up on the lower right side of the taskbar?
