CCleaner Vista 32bit

Post by ChrisGreaves »

For my sins I am looking at a an “HP Invent” laptop.
Win Vista. 32 bit.

My recent downloaded version of CCleaner won't run.
I search for a 32bit version and seem to download the latest version.
I tried downloading on the old HP laptop in the vain hopes that the CCleaner download page would "read" the machine and offer an appropriate download.
So far no luck.

This is not critical, but I would like to use a trusted cleanup utility one way or another.

If anyone can provide a specific download link that ought to work, I'll buy you a coffee next time you're in Bonavista.
Thanks, Chris

You can download CCleaner 5.14 from OldVersion.com.
That version is compatible with Windows Vista.

(But why would anyone still run Vista? :flee:)
Best wishes,
Hans

Thank you Hans, I'll check it out in the morning.

... because I now have seven laptops on site, one of which (mine!) is "working".
Yesterday's visit to Bunyan's Cove to free up space on a Galaxy Smartphone upturned three laptops which either wouldn't respond or had flaky boot-ups or ... and in particular were loaded with family photos that had not been backed up.

Sensing disaster I offered to implement a backup system for all three machines.
We will see what we will see.

In the meantime I am using my "system inspection" procedure to report on each machine and recommend three replacements.
I might buy these old laptops. If I ever set up a training school here, I can use old laptops, especially if they have no internet connection, to teach Principles of {windows | programming | spreadsheets | word processing | ...}

Cheers, Chris
