PDF Table

Post by jstevens »

When I open a PDF file and highlight a table some of the text in the table is not highlighted.

What would cause this?

Table Headings: Date, Description and Amount

In this case all date and amounts are highlighted but some of the description text (in some rows) is not. If the description text is not highlighted it is the entire row.

John

Does this happen in all PDF files with tables?
For example, if you create a document in Word with a table (with text in the cells), save that document as PDF, then open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat, do you experience the same problem?

Hans

Hans,

It does not happen in all PDF files with tables. After saving the PDF file as a Word document I was able to view the table contents in question and have noticed that the text not being highlighted actually resides in a small textbox.

The PDF file was received from a 3rd Party so I may be out of luck.

It probably depends on how the PDF file was created...
