Testing WEB sites For Safety

Post by hlewton »

I have used program named Temp File Cleaner (TFC) for years but not for quite a while now, maybe a year or even more. I tried running it today and Malwarebytes blocked it with the first message below.
Website blocked due to riskware
Website blocked: wiki.addpcs.com

I searched the WEB to see if that was a known risky site. I saw that TFC listed what may have been a newer version than I have, so I clicked on that link and got the next message below.
Website blocked due to riskware

I know that in the past some sites that Malwarebytes blocked had to be listed in Malwarebytes as safe sites. I think there are programs out there to test the safety of WEB sites for free. Are there any recommendations what program I should use to test this site? Or maybe someone here knows if the riskware at those sites are malicious.

Thanks
Regards,

Alternatively, ditch TFC and use Ccleaner instead. I use the 'Slim' version to ensure I get just Ccleaner:

Thanks. I have used Ccleaner for years. Seems, at least for me, TFC finds files to clean even after Ccleaner has run. Maybe they are harmless files but they are still there.
