60 reparse records processed

Post by jmt356 »

Checkdisk reports "60 reparse records processed." What does it mean? Is it something to worry about?

Also, if anyone can decipher what the following means and whether it's a bad sign, would be most appreciated:
Cleaning up 266 unused index entries from index $SII of file 0x9.
Cleaning up 266 unused index entries from index $SDH of file 0x9.
Cleaning up 266 unused security descriptors.
CHKDSK discovered free space marked as allocated in the master file table (MFT) bitmap.

Here is the full context:

This is nothing to worry about, these are only minor corrections - cleaning up garbage left behind by Windows. It's not a hard disk problem.
Best wishes,

These types of error are typically caused when windows crashes, or when you turn your computer off without shutting it down. They are worth fixing, but your disk drive is fine.

What about "Cleaning up 19 unused index entries from index $SII of file 0x9." Is this similarly nothing to worry about?

I would not worry about that message, especially if you were checking a disk that was in use.
