ESET Antivirus products and Win10

Post by BobArch2 »

ESET recommends that you update to their current versions before updating to Windows 10. The current version being 8.0.319.0. See here for more information. The link shown above indicates ESET versions 7 and 8 are compatible to Windows 10 but the recommendation is to get the current version before installing Windows 10. They also indicate that users with installed versions 3, 4, 5 and 6 can get FREE versions of version 8 after they upgrade to Windows 10.

If using an older version (I was using 8.0.312.0) using the Check For Update tool does NOT take you to the new version. In my case it showed that I had the latest update.

Using this link, you can select and download the full install file for the new version. I did not have to uninstall the older version and the full install file recognized the currently installed version and updated it and maintained all the previous settings and history.
Regards,
Bob

But actually, the company was named after the Egyptian goddess Eset (also known as Isis)...
Best wishes,

straight from the horse's mouth

It appears that three of the letters stand for EnjoySaferTechnology. The PDF document , produced by ESET, provides 12 examples of the missing "E".

We learn something new everyday, EH Viking?
