Update â–º Opera 11.0 released

Post by JoeP »

The latest version of Opera has been released to the world. See Opera browser for a download link. See Opera features for information on the features Opera believes are important.

Is it fast? Does it have a small footprint?

At least one person believes it reduces his footprint: Ace - Opera helps reducing my Carbon Footprint!. He probably looks like the picture in Tiny footprint.
Best wishes,
Hans

Apparently certain colours - or combinations of colours - increase one's carbon footprint, but I don't know what they are. I hope it's pink :)

I want a browser to be fast. Other bells are whistles are of less concern.

One of the first things I do with a new browser is to disable those *** annoying in-text ads that normally appear as double-underlined text. I installed an ad-block extension but it doesn't prevent these.
You can block most of these without an add-on. Click the Menu button (top left), Settings, Preferences, Advanced and click the Blocked Content button. Add the following:

http://*.intellitxt.com/*" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://*.adbrite.com/*" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://*.text-link-ads.com/*" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://kona.kontera.com/javascript/lib/KonaLibInline.js" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://resources.infolinks.com/*" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hope this might prove useful. Andy.
