How to view an SSL certificate in Chrome browser

Post by StuartR »

I am using Chrome Version 58.0.3029.110 (64-bit) on Windows 10 Pro Version 1703.

I just updated the SSL certificate on my own web site, and I wanted to check that the new certificate was in use. When I click the padlock in Chrome, it tells me that the site is secure, but I can't see any way to view the certificate to check the dates. Have I missed something obvious or does Chrome not make this easy?

The option to view the certificate from the padlock has been removed in Chrome 56. See How to View SSL Certificate Details in Chrome 56 for the rather roundabout way to do it now.
Best wishes,
Hans

Thank you. That really isn't very friendly is it?

There are pages and pages of complaints on the Google support forums, but Google is not known for listening to users' comments.
Best wishes,
Hans
