Get Chrome in 64-bit

Post by Rudi »

Article: 64-bit Windows support for Chrome, stable with the release of Chrome 37.
64-bit Chrome offers many benefits for speed, stability and security. Our measurements have shown that the native 64-bit version of Chrome has improved speed on many of our graphics and media benchmarks. For example, the VP9 codec that’s used in High Definition YouTube videos shows a 15% improvement in decoding performance.

Note: the download link in the article apparently points to the 32-bit version accidentally. Use the Download link above!

Thanks. The default is still the 32-bit version, but the standard download page https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has a link to the 64-bit version:

The link takes you to the page that you mention (https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/?platform=win64" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), and the link on the page changes:

I was reading the comments below the article and the trend was that people just clicked the blue download button and ended up with the 32-bit version...
TX for your screenshots.
